UTAH
Kaitlin had her last school program for the year at South Elementary. It was all about UTAH. There were Indians, and mountain men, Spaniards, and pioneers. Kaitlin was a pioneer, thanks to Grandma Marchant for making her a bonnet. They all did a great job and sang a lot of fun songs. I love the Utah song, I think it's my favorite. I can't believe that school is out tomorrow.
St George Adventure
On our way to the Temple the other day I saw all of these beautiful flowers growing along side the road. Kirk doesn't like stopping once he's going so when the kids and I went to St George I made sure to bring my camera along. It was a pretty site to see these as we drove into and out of St George.
Derick has been wanting to get some more driving hours and drive down to St George. We decided that this would be a good day to head down there because Derick needed new church clothes and both Tyler and Kaitlin needed shoes. We stopped at this new burger joint, SMASH BURGER, and have dinner. They had really good burgers.
We had a fun time together and were even able to see Uncle "Bubby" Doug, at the bank.

Memory Tree

Kirk & I went to the Temple today and I made sure to bring my camera because I wanted to go take a picture of the tree that Kirk and I kissed at for the first time. I think that it’s pretty ironic that that is also where we were sealed for Time & All Eternity. I will always hold a special place in my heart for the St. George temple.

1995 Favorite pic
This is one of my all time favorite pictures of Derick. We had planned on having his pictures taken with overalls on but as we, my Mom and I were wandering through Sears we found the fishing gear to add to the picture. Isn't he adorable?By the way, Derick's nickname was and always will be "Tugboat". How he got that name you may ask? What do tugboats say? Toot Toot. That is what Derick did from the day he was born. He was known for his great TOOTS.

Memorial day 2006

I just completed this layout in a speed scrap with my Sister, Lori's, instructions. It was challenging but I ended up with this awesome layout. I chose to do memorial day pictures since we are coming upon that holiday.
Every year we go to the cemetery with rakes, trimmers, water and of course flowers in hand and clean up around all of our relatives graves. The little kids always have a fun time collecting all of the old flowers that have been blowing around, and then they line them up on top of the headstones.

Beautiful Message
What an inspiration this woman is to me today. I'm so grateful to be a Mom, have my health, have the gospel, and to have the challenges that have been given me so that I can grow closer to my Heavenly Father.

Road Trip
We had such a fun road trip with the girls up north. We started off with a sleepover at my Parents in Leamington. Then the next morning we stopped at the Young Living Farm the girls paddled on the paddle boats, where Olympia lost her socks and had to go fishing for them. Had a great time exploring IKEA and then went to Joe’s Crab shack for lunch. We ended the day at the mall where the girls did a little window shopping. FUN, FUN

Happy Happy Birthday Nichole & Michele #18

Today was Nichole & Michele’s birthday. We celebrated with our annual “Balloon Launch”. Everyone wrote their messages and then we sang Happy Birthday and sent our balloons to Heaven. I can’t believe it has been 18 years now. I imagine them graduating high school this year. I’m glad their safe and sound in heaven.

Good Memories
We had our last Hoorah for Roberts yesterday at a luncheon at the Pizza Factory. I can't believe that Roberts is gone here in Cedar City. I sure enjoyed working there and learned lots. Working at Roberts was the first job that I had worked since going to college. I would go shopping there and always think that being a designer at Roberts would be a dream job. Once the kids were all in school I went and applied. I started out over department 2, the floral area which entailed putting out product and straightening shelves. Janet would let me do a little here with the floor displays. Then I got to start painting some of the wood items and also got to decorate some of the Christmas trees. Debbie who was the class/events coordinator decided to quit so I was asked to take over her spot, with a little reluctance I decided to do it. I was incharge of all the classes and teachers, making announcements, (which I absolutely hated) , doing demos, preparing make-n-takes, and putting on all the EVENTS, ie., "Ladies night out", 50's week, Fright Night, Christmas openhouse, etc, etc, etc,. I was able to work side by side with Waylene, the store designer. Waylene trained me as we worked together with all the in's and out of decorating story boards and making the page of the month. Waylene then decided to retire and after some sweet talking to Janet I was able to become the store designer. I had a blast!I really enjoyed working at Roberts. I worked with some wonderful women and John. We had lots and lots of laughs. I will miss everyone.

Opening night at the ballpark
Kirk was selected as an SUU alumni to get free tickets to the Bees opening night game.
While we were waiting for the TRAX to arrive I was putting on my lipstick and the boys wanted me to kiss them on the cheek and take a picture so that they could see what it looked like. I'm glad my boys still like kisses from their mom.
We all got free t-shirts and then they had a BBQ dinner for us. The kids all brought baseballs and a sharpie so that they could get some of the players autographs.

It was such a beautiful evening even though we lost by one point.
We got to enjoy an awesome firework show after the game also. At the game they have these RC Willey recliners that a couple get to sit in during the game. By the time the fireworks had started the people had left so Derick hopped in one and Tyler and I in the other one. What a way to watch the fireworks.

Vegas part III the finale
Tyler talked Grandpa into venturing out at night to go see a few of the night time sites.. So off we went with the “GARMEN” in hopes that we would find our way back to Treasure Island. We saw a volcano erupt on our way to the Bellagio. Tyler humored me and walked through the Bellagio to see the conservatory "Gardens". We then went outside and watched a few water shows. Those are so much fun to see and the evening was just perfect. Then we found our way to the OLD Vegas strip. I remember when I was young and visited Vegas that it was so amazing to drive down the strip, it seemed to go on forever. I talked it up to Tyler telling him how amazing it was and that we couldn’t go without seeing the spectacle. Well it lasted a whole minute to drive down. Tyler said “Was that all?” I guess it doesn’t compare to the new part of Vegas. Maybe when he’s older and takes his kids to Vegas there will be a “Newer” part of Vegas. And his kids will think that the “Old New”to him is not very exciting too. We went and we saw and made it back to Treasure island and only got a little turned around in our directions.
We had such a great time on our little get-a-way with Grandma and Grandpa Evers. I'm so glad that Tyler invited me to be his friend and to be able to enjoy this with him and my parents. Thanks Mom & Dad.

Las Vegas part II
We always enjoy going to the Bass Pros Shop. Tyler's favorite part is to practice golfing.
We went to the Shark Reef Museum later this day and were able to see all sorts of animals. It was neat to walk through the tunnels with all the sharks swimming around us. There was a spot where you could walk on the glass directly over a shark, Tyler was pretty nervous about it thinking that it would break. I walked over it to show that he would be perfectly fine. They had these radios that you could carry with you and then you would just type in the number that was on the window you were looking at and it would tell you about the animals/fish.

That evening we went to the Luxor buffet to eat. WOW! You can easily get lost in there. There dessert bar was amazing. Our favorite dessert was called panna cotta. Tyler and I decided that we would eat it at the same time not knowing what it was going to taste like. It was absolutely delicious!!! I think we ate about 7 of them together. I definitely will have to try to make it again.

Las Vegas part I
When the grandkids turn 12 my Mom and Dad take them on a little trip. So it was Tyler's turn this year and they have been planning this since before they left on their mission. The plan was to go to Las Vegas and play. My Mom told Tyler that he could bring along and friend so guess what friend he asked to bring? ME! I was so excited. A few days before we left Tyler said to me, " Mom, do you want to go on a date with me? I thought we would go to Vegas and see Mystere, & go out to a buffet for dinner". What a charmer.
We stayed at Treasure Island on the 24th floor. We ate at their buffet on the first night and they had a great dessert bar with a fountain of mini raised donuts and even served cotton candy, it was so much fun.
That night after dinner we had tickets to go see Mystere. WOW, was that amazing, I can't believe what those people can do and how strong they must be. By the end of the show I had chewed my cheek sore because I was so nervous for them being up so high. Very entertaining!
The next morning we got up and went to the Las Vegas Temple to do baptisms for the dead. What a neat and special experience. Tyler was able to be baptized for 33 of our relatives and I was able to do 1 family name and 10 0ther names. Dad was able to do the baptizing and confirming both. I'm so proud of Tyler for being able to do this great blessing. He even said that is was even more amazing than Mystere.

Indian Cuisine
For family night tonight, we had the pleasure of going to our friends Sanjay, Carol, & Olympia’s house for dinner. Sanjay is from India so he made us an authentic Indian dinner. It was absolutely delightful. We had curry chicken with rice, yogurt salad, curry shrimp, & Sanjay's Salad. They taught us how to eat with our hands, the kids had a blast. Kaitlin’s place mat was a disaster by the time she finished, but she had fun. I forgot to take a picture of the drink that they served. It was a lime drink with cilantro & some other spices. It was delicious. Then we had a rice type pudding for dessert with cloves, cardimum, apricots and fresh coconut. Soooooo yummy! They were wonderful hosts and we look forward to doing it again.
