In July, Derick, as one of his Sterling Scholar projects took on the task of directing a children’s theater. So he picked a play, held auditions, selected parts and then directed almost 50 kids from 8-14 years old. I was a lot of work and he put in hours upon hours directing and making sets, with the help of a few other students and his Family of course. Then on September 14 & 15 the cast performed it for the community. It was awesome!!!! To everyone’s surprise, there was a packed auditorium. He will be donating what he earned minus expenses to the Schools Drama and Music department.![]()

Willy Wonka the Musical
Football Season!
Tyler has been playing on the Delta Highschool Freshman team. He plays both D-end and Center. He does a great job too! Unfortunately most of the schools that they have played don’t have a Freshman team so they end up playing their Juniors and Sophomores. They really have a good team and do a good job. So far they have won 1. But win or loose, I love being able to be there for each and every one of his games. Rain or shine. He started the season out as 66 now he is 89.
Here is a link of him play center against Richfield.
The blessings of the Temple
In July, we had the privilege of doing my Grandma’s temple work. Kaitlin was able to be baptized for her by my Dad and then Lori, Brett, Andrea and I were able to do her other temple ordinances ending with sealing her to my Grandpa and Grandma BB. What a wonderful day.
Church History Trip
I’ve been putting of posting these pictures until I had the whole trip done but I haven’t had the time to get the others done. So I will share the couple that I do have done.
To start of with, my wonderful parents took all of us kids and our children on a church history trip to Missouri and Illinois areas. We drove out in three cars and met Kirk, Sean, Brett, Andrea and Jaron in Missouri. We had a good time driving out there with the kids despite a horrible dust storm just before we got to Colorado.
I may fix the order later to be accurate, but this is a layout that I did of our visit to Adam-Ondi-Ahman. What a beautiful/sacred place. I really loved the feeling that I felt there as we walked around.

Jazz Game and the Sinks
Derick’s choir group had the privilege of singing the National Anthem at the Jazz vs. Suns game. What a neat experience for them. Plus it was a great game to watch.![]()
The “Sinks” is a body of water near Leamington. We drove out there the other day to see how much water is there. Plus Derick is scoping it out for a date.

Austin’s Baptism
Track Season Has Begun
We love track season! The weather is warmer and we get to spend time outdoors. Derick is throwing the shotput, and his favorite, the Discus. He has been throwing around 130 during practices. He tends to get really nervous during meet though which can be super frustrating to him. Just one of those things that he has to figure out. He did take first this past week at the Millard Invitational.

Scrapbooking Weekend

Kaitlin had a clogging competition in Lehi a few weeks ago. Their team did two dances and took first in both of them. It's so fun to watch her clogg.

Jr. Prom
Derick took this adorable gal, Paige Johnson to their Jr Prom yesterday. They went with two other couples, Micael Bennett who took Alli Finlinson and Matt Coles took Brooke Finlinson.
They started the day off with a day date put on by the parents/school. It was sort of an “Amazing Race” competition between all the groups.
- First off they did Minute to Win It games
- Headed to the golf course where they had to putt balls in the hole
- Off to the Shooting Range where they had to hit clay pigeons.
- Next to the Bowling alley where two of them had to get strikes
- Then they had to go to 7-11 and the girls had to all drink a 32 oz drink.
- Next they had to get someone to for fill their car up with gas and wash their windows.
- Then off to the Car wash were they had to flag someone down to wash their car.
- And to the Grocery store, where they had to bags someones groceries and take them to their car.
- They ended at the elementary school where they did an obstacle course.
They thought they did pretty good for the most part but ended up taking 4th place. To finish off their day date they went to the theater and watched a movie. After the movie, they took the girls home to get ready for the big night.
They then went to the Paladium where dinner was served. After dinner they introduced all of the Junior Class and did the Promenade. The Fathers danced with their daughter and after that the Mothers got to dance with their sons. What a beautiful evening.

2012 Region Wrestling. Delta takes it!
Win or loose, it doesn’t matter but nothing could make me more proud than to see Derick kneeling down against the wall saying a prayer for help.

National Anthem
Derick was asked to sing the anthem at a volley ball game this past fall and we ended up missing hearing him sing because of a time mix up by me. I was so upset because I wanted to be there. He had people in tears because of how beautiful he sang. I had one lady tell me that of all the years that she has heard the anthem she had never heard it sang so beautifully. Well, he was given the opportunity to sing it again this past month at the Girls Varsity basketball game. I am so proud of him. He just sang it the way it should be sung. Nothing fancy but purely beautiful with such feeling.
Kaitlin turns 12
Turning 12 is a big deal in our home. Kaitlin has been looking forward to this day for a LONG time. She is now old enough to go in to Young Womens and to the temple, AND she’s old enough to start wearing make-up.
Kaitlin had a few of her school friends over for a party where they played Just Dance on the Wii, Sang on the Karaoke machine, made their own pizzas and made A LOT of noise. (In fact the doorbell sensor kept going off. We ended up taking if off the wall and into a suitcase before it stopped ringing.)
When the kids turn 12 Grandma & Grandpa Evers take them on a little trip. They went Las Vegas where they went to the Phantom of the Opera out to eat and then the next day Kaitlin was able to go to the Temple for the first time and do baptisms for the dead. She had a blast!

Derick’s First Win!!!
Derick went out for wrestling this year at Delta. He had mentioned that Coach Thomas had been trying to talk him in to wrestling during the previous school year. He told Coach Thomas that he would if I would let him stay there at Delta this year. I kept thinking “Are you kidding me Derick, you won’t try out for Delta football because you don’t think you can do it but you want to try out for DELTA WRESTLING” “Do you have any idea what it means to wrestle for Delta??” Derick has never wrestled before. Not even messing around with his Dad, brother or Uncle.
Wrestling season comes and we are still in Delta and Derick says he’s going to do it. I’m still asking him, “Are you sure you want to wrestle? You don’t really have to if you don’t want to!”
Well he’s wrestling for Delta High School. He is going to practices and working his rear end off. If you don’t know anything about Delta Wrestling, they are serious about wrestling. They work HARD! Even the heavy weights, which Derick is, WORK HARD! He goes to those practices every time and works his hardest. Sometimes he works so hard that he is throwing up. But he has never complained once and has never even talked about quitting. In fact he loves it. He loves the team and how they encourage him. He loves the coaches and how they are tough on him but yet he knows they love him and want him to do his best.
Derick received his first win which ended in pinning the guy yesterday at one of the biggest JV tournaments in Utah. All of his hard work finally paid off for him. He still has a lot to learn as most of the wrestlers have been wrestling since they were little. But we are so proud of him. Their team ended up winning the tournament against 32 schools. Derick place 6th.![]()
