What's up?

It has been so busy around here lately. Now that I'm the mom taking my kids to practices and going in to Delta or up North for groceries and misc. errands, I sure do appreciate all that my parents did for me. But I have loved every minute of it. I'm so glad that my kids are enjoying it here in Leamington and going to school in Delta.

This past weekend I went up North to my sisters for a Scrapping Weekend. It was so much fun. I got to digital scrapbook all day long and not feel in the least bit guilty. I think that I got 15 layouts completed. Lori and I brought our own chairs from her house to sit on so that we could be comfortable sitting there for hours. It was also great to spend time with Lori face to face. We communicate plenty online but don't get to spend much time together. I can't even scrap a page from our weekend because I didn't take one picture. I'll have to get some from Lori.

Kirk took the Kids to the Utah State Fair on Saturday and had a great time. I really appreciate Kirk for letting my go to the Scrapping weekend and taking the kids to the fair.

This week has started of super busy. Kirk and I went up North on Monday to Tuchanos (sp) for dinner. If you haven't been there it's a Brazilian restaurant and they come to your tables with meat, veggies, and pineapple on spits and cut off pieces for you. Lots of fun and plenty of food. We were also able to get some shopping done for our upcoming trip.

Yesterday was Tyler's first football game. He did AWESOME, especially for it being his first real football game EVER. There was one play that he did where they did the Quarter Back sneak. It turned out amazingly good. I still need to learn a little more about football though. Derick and my brother Greg kept making fun of me because I kept saying/yelling the wrong terms at the wrong time. Oh well, I need to learn some time. They ended up not winning the game but were down by only one TD. Tyler kept looking up at us and giving us the thumbs up throughout the game. He had a blast.

Now on to Derick. Derick auditioned last week for the play "Beauty and the Beast" He did awesome. I was so proud of him. I know that he was terrified at the idea of even doing it but I encouraged him because I knew that this would be a good way for him to get to know more people there at school. He had to have a song and a short monologue. He sang "Go the Distance" from Hercules and then his monologue was from the movie Rocky Balboa where Rocky is talking to his son in the alley. After he sang, he had girls cheering for him. and the next few days at school had girls telling him that they couldn't believe that he could sing so good. Anyways, he got his part yesterday. He is Maurice, Belle's father. That was one of the top three choices he had wanted to get so he is quite excited. The Drama teacher told him that she picked him for that part because he had such a strong voice and Maurice and several singing parts.Kaitlin is taking piano lessons and is doing a great job. We decided to wait as far as clogging goes until we know a little more what we are doing with ourselves. She has adjusted to the move so great and has made lots of friends.

My apologies

Sorry to all of you that have had to endure my many posts, I was at a Scrapbooking retreat all weekend. But mainly I apologies for my bad sentence structure and writing skills. I love doing the digital scrapbooking and would love to just leave it at that but I am trying to work on my journaling skills.

Hold On 2002

Monkey Bars 2001

Kaitlin is trying so hard to do the Monkey Bars. The look on her face tells it all.

Happy 40th Kirk

For Kirk's birthday this year we went up to a Bee's Baseball game. It wasn't the best game but it's always fun to go to the ball park and doubly fun if you can be there with your family.

Denver Contd

Casa Bonita

I grew going to Casa Bonita and remember it being such a fun place to go to. It has change alot. The kids still had a fun time though.
Here is Big Bart's hideout. It's a cave that is sort of like a small haunted house that you walk through. Notice in the picture above how Tyler and Tyrel are having Kaitlin go in first. They even had me go in before them.

Trip to Denver August 2010

It had been a while since the kids had seen GGma and GGpa. Tyler was pretty worried about GGma, with her being sick, so he wasn't sure what to expect. I think that he was pretty happy to see that she what just his same GG.

We were so lucky and were able to go to the “Egg & I” for breakfast every morning while we were in Denver. This picture of Derick, I just love it. The expression on his face looks the same as the Scooby Dooby Doo on his T-shirt.

Pickin' Raspberries

While were up the mountains for Labor Day we rode the 4 wheelers over to a hillside full of raspberry bushes. The little kids pretty much ate all that they picked but we always ended up with a good size bowl of them. They were used in breakfast pancakes and I had them on my ice cream, it was delicious.

Last of Girls Camp 2010

We had such an wonderful fire side at young women's camp. One of the talks they told us, was about a story of a soldier in the war and how he was at an old women's house and she had this painting of the Saviors hands and it had all of these names written on it. She told him that whenever anyone would come to visit and were having struggles she would have them sign their name on it and give the Savior their worries and whatever they were struggling with. So they had a painting there at camp and let everyone go up and put there name on it. On the morning that we left, everyone got a balloon & we wrote down what a goal of ours is that we wanted to accomplish throughout this next year.

Building a fort

Tyler and Grandpa had a great time building this fort. Tyler was exhausted by the time we headed home.

Labor Day Weekend

It was fun to watch all the kids looking for the frogs. They looked like old people all bent over hoping to find one. I think that Bailey caught 99% of them. Tyler ended up stripping out down to his BVD's so that his pants wouldn't get wet.

Labor Day Weekend

For Labor day we went up North and stayed in a cabin at the base of Provo Canyon and then drove up past Heber every day to spend time with my Mom's family. This is a picture of my Cousin Eric's boy Ethan up at the pond looking for baby frogs.

Date night with my boys!

I love it when my boys ask me out on a date. Tyler wrote me a letter asking me if I wanted to go out on a 4-wheeler ride and then left a blank piece of paper and an envelope to write my reply on. So we headed off and explored the farm roads around Leamington.

We came across some corn fields being watered. I have always wanted to run through those field sprinklers so this was my chance without being seen by someone on the road. So we did it together on the 4-wheeler. Tyler couldn't believe that I wanted to do that and was pretty excited to go through them with me. The water was pretty smelly but it was fun.We came across a farmer dumping a load of barbwire and Tyler stopped to help. There are always so many pretty things to see out here in the country.
Derick was next for a date. He had earned two free ice cream coupons at YM so he invited me to go share one with him. He drove me over to Lyndyll on the back roads. We had a great visiting about school.
